CHOPIN’S CELL

The cell nº4 is the authentic cell where Frederic Chopin spent the winter in 1838/1839. Accompanied by George Sand, he rented the cell, which consisted of three rooms and a garden, situated in Royal Monastery (Real Cartuja). In the central hall of the museum you can find the original rental documents, expense accounts of the couple on the island, including the costs of Chopin’s medical treatments and the costs of transport of his piano to Valldemossa.
