DRY STONE ROUTE GR221

The dry stone route GR221 ‘la ruta de piedra en seco’ is a very popular 135 km, 8 day trek along the mountains on the west side of Mallorca. The pathways along the walk are lined with old cobbled paths, which were originally built to link the village and estates on the mountain range. The route is famous for its landscape of olive trees on terraces with dry-stone walls and runs from Port D’Andratx all the way to Pollenca.

HORSE RIDING

An equestrian center situated near Sóller, on the road from Palma to Sóller. Here you can enjoy horse riding in a beautiful environment of Natural Park of Serra Nord and a large scale of services in a new built and modern riding center. Lessons are available for everyone from children (aged four years and over), to advanced riders from fully qualified BHS or RFHE trainers.

There are lots of ways to visit the Valley of Sóller. MOUNTAIN BIKE TOUR

Sóller offers the perfect base in which to explore the Tramuntana area by mountain. There are many tracks and trails to discover winding through olive groves and spectacular scenery. To make the experience more enjoyable for you it is recommended to take a tour guide as much of the land is privately owned.

Tramuntana Tours have two shops, one in Soller and one in Port de Soller, where you can hire a bike and book your guide too. It is recommended to hire bikes in advance if you are planning your visit between April and October.

SON TERMENS GOLF COURSE

The nearest golf course to Soller is the 18 hole Son Termens on Ctra. S’Esglaieta to Santa Maria (Bunyola), only 15 minutes driving. The course is characterized by moderate – hard technical difficulty. This undulating – hilly terrain with water hazards offers perfect conditions for demanding golfing set in the foothills of Tramontana mountains, manageable also by less practiced players.

DIVING

Octopus Dive Centre is a PADI five star dive resort and shop situated in Port de Sóller. They dive out of the Port Sóller everyday into the clear waters around the Mediterranean.

Another great diving center is Marina Tramontana, diving out of the Port Sóller everyday in the summer.

REPIC BEACH

‘Platja d’en Repic’ is in the Southern part of the bay of Port de Sóller. The sandy bay with pedestrian sea front offers perfect opportunities for water sport activities like scuba diving or water-skiing mostly because of its safe and calm waters. The bay is very popular for private yachts who can anchor in local waters safely, whose passengers can enjoy lovely restaurants with beautiful sea view on one hand, and incredible mountain scenery on the other.

ES TRAVÉS BEACH

The Es Través beach is the longest one with a convenient position close to the port, therefore to the bars, restaurants and hotels. Behind the beach you can enjoy the sea front promenade and the charming train line, as well as numerous cozy local shops and cafes. One of the most popular activities that the harbour offers is hiring of a catamaran excursion to Sa Calobra, Torrent of Pareis or Cala Tuent.

CHURCH OF SAINT BARTHOLOMEW

Erected in 1236 and dedicated to the virgin Mary and Saint Bartholomew by pope Innocent IV in 1248. Many extensions and reforms were made over the years, meaning the town was left with a Romanesque-Gothic church from 1492, many parts of which are still visible today. In 1688 works started to reform the temple to its Baroque style which can been seen today.
