DRY STONE ROUTE GR221

The dry stone route GR221 ‘la ruta de piedra en seco’ is a very popular 135 km, 8 day trek along the mountains on the west side of Mallorca. The pathways along the walk are lined with old cobbled paths, which were originally built to link the village and estates on the mountain range. The route is famous for its landscape of olive trees on terraces with dry-stone walls and runs from Port D’Andratx all the way to Pollenca.

The stages for the route are as follows:

Stage 1: Port D’Andratx to Sant Elm La Trappa – duration 3hrs 45 mins.

Stage 2: La Trappa to Estellencs, duration 7 hrs 15 mins.

Stage 3: Banyalbufar to Esporles, distance 7.6 km.

Stage 4: Esporles to Refuge de Can Boli in Deia, duration 6 hrs 30 mins.

Stage 5: Deia to Port de Sóller, distance 10,1 km

Stage 6: Port de Sóller to Refuge Tossals Verds, distance 28 km

Stage 7: Refuge Tossals Verds to Lluc, distance 5,1 km

Stage 8: Lluc to Pollenca, distance 16,7 km
