TENNIS… MALLORCA’S FAVOURITE
One of the most popular sports practised by the islanders as well as the tourists is definitely tennis. A significant addition in Mallorca’s tennis world is definitely the new tennis school founded by the island’s most famous tennis player. The Rafa Nadal Academy had its inauguration this past October.
The sports center is located in Rafa’s home town of Manacor offering a wide variety of weekly, monthly and summer programs for young tennis players.
In 2014 the first stone was laid & construction began, a project estimated to cost about 20million euros, opening its doors to the public in June of 2016 with great success.
The Academy combines tennis and education, so that students can focus on their pathway to professional tennis while not leaving their academics behind.
It apparently uses the training method that has lead Rafa to be number one, with guarantees of being surrounded by the best coaches and including the values that have been fundamental to his achievement and success.
Looks like we may get a few more tennis stars coming out of Mallorca in the near future!
